KENNY SALWEY, THE LAST RIVER RAT

Early show 5PM | Late show 7:30PM
Kenny Salwey is the author of three books on his life of a river rat in the backwaters and bluffs of the Upper Mississippi River.  Salwey will host the Emmy-winning BBC and Discovery Channel film entitled The Last River Rat.  Kenny not only presents the film, but will entertain all with his down home telling of stories from the river.  Salwey just released his third book in the fall of 2009.

The film is an intimate and poetic portrayal of wildlife along the Upper Mississippi River seen through the eyes of Salwey; a beguiling backwoodsman, storyteller and philosopher of nature, who has lived his life in a log cabin, a stones throw from the waters edge. This film is a sumptuous evocation of the outstanding natural beauty of one of Americas most iconic rivers a story focusing on the plants and animals closest to the narrators heart. Country blues combined with wild tracks recorded on location, add authentic atmosphere to the story ...

Each show will include:

    * A showing of the 50 minutes film;
    * Story telling by Kenny and a Q&A period
    * Book signing period.
